Welcome to Signing Day 2023 - your home for Oregon Duck football Recruiting!

Wednesday, the first day of college football's early signing period, kicks off a three-day stretch where high school, junior college, and Transfer Portal prospects can elect to sign with a college of their choosing and commit long-term for their football future. For the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning, Wednesday could be the start of an exciting few days as they make a big push to land the program's best recruiting class in school history.

As the day unfolds, Oregon's 2024 recruiting class is going to see some additions and even possibly some departures as the morning turns into the afternoon. We'll be tracking it all here on DuckTerritory.com as the day unfolds. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning will speak with the media late Wednesday afternoon to give his thoughts on the day's events and how the recruiting class has shaped up. Following the press conference with Dan Lanning, we'll provide analysis and insight into all Oregon football recruiting.

Going into Wednesday morning, the Ducks are holding on to 23 verbal commitments from high school and JUCO prospects and four commitments from Transfer Portal Prospects. More could be coming as the Ducks are involved with a 5-star offensive player, are trying to flip multiple other 4-star prospects, and the Ducks are considered to be the favorites for at least one 4-star defensive recruit who's just outside the Top 100 in the 247Sports rankings.

Oregon's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 7 nationally, and it features 5-star defensive linemen Aydin Breland and Elijah Rushing, while also holding commitments from 11 prospects ranked inside the Top 247 for the 247 recruiting class. The Ducks hold a commitment from the No. 2 JUCO prospect in the country, five state's top overall prospects between high school and JUCO players, and Oregon's class stretches across 11 states and districts of the United States. Oregon's transfer class also includes commitments from the No. 4 overall prospect in QB Dante Moore and the No. 10 QB prospect in Dillon Gabriel.

Here is all the important information you need to know going into National Signing Day and our updates throughout the exciting day.

And then there was one left

The Oregon Ducks have announced a few more of their remaining commits as signed, bringing the total for Oregon now to 23 of their 24 high school and junior college commits listed as signed. The latest to send in their paperwork? Linebacker and 4-star prospect Dylan Williams has signed with Oregon after taking a late official visit to Arizona and hearing from USC and other programs. Oregon was also able to hold onto 4-star offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy for his signature after Colorado tried like heck to flip him up until today. Last but not least, the Ducks have also landed the signature from its NSD flip of Jeremiah McClellan.

That leaves Oregon with just one prospect and that's 4-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi, who will sign with Oregon at 3 PM PT.

Oregon makes a major flip

Oregon Ducks Football Recruiting: Signing Day Live Updates (2)

The Oregon Ducks have flipped Ohio State's 4-star wide receiver commitment Jeremiah McClellan out of Saint Louis. The 6-foot receiver is ranked as the No. 72 player in the country regardless of position while ranking No. 16 overall at the wide receiver position. He is rated as the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri.

The flip is a big deal for the Ducks as they've now been able to add another elite talent to the receiver position group while also keeping Dillon Gresham in the fold after Arizona, Texas, and USC tried to flip him. Plus, the addition of Jack Ressler and the Ducks now all of a sudden have a really core group for its long-term prospects. This also makes more sense for why the Ducks haven't been as aggressive as maybe some expected them to be in the transfer portal at wide receiver.

8:15 AM Update

Oregon has announced five more signings as more West Coast prospects submit their paperwork and get processed, ending with an official announcement. Oregon has signed 3-star wide receiver Jack Ressler out of Mater Dei high school in SoCal, and 4-star JUCO cornerback Sione Laulea is someone who will compete for CB1 at Oregon next season, the 4-star wide receiver Dillon Gresham was hearing a lot from Texas, Arizona, and USC late and Arizona felt like they were going to nab him, but instead, he chose to stick with the Ducks and signed. Oregon also has added in-state interior offensive lineman Devin Brooks out of the Portland area while keeping 4-star linebacker Brayden Platt signed after Washington tried to get him to stay in-state.

Oregon's 2nd 5-star is in

Another 5-star defensive lineman is officially an Oregon Duck. 5-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland has signed his paperwork and sent it to Oregon, which the school quickly processed and announced. The 6-foot-5,290-pound prospect out of Mater Dei in California is a consensus top-10 player in his position. Selected for the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game and the Polynesian Bowl. He led Mater Dei to a Trinity League title, a CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship, and a CIF State Football Open Division Championship as a senior in 2023. Named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Preseason first team…Racked up 16 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and five passes defended in 10 games.

A wave of signings come in

Oregon has announced the signing of a wave of commitments out west as prospects up and down the country in that region were allowed to sign now. That included Utah 4-star tight end Roger Saleapaga, a prospect who will join the Ducks and look to make an immediate impact right away as a skilled player. Oregon also added massive 4-star safety Kingston Lopa, who can potentially move down into the linebacker position at Oregon.Arizona pass-rush specialist JacksonJonessigned his letter of intent, giving the Ducks another 4-star at that position group. Oregon was also active in signing its in-state prospects. 3-star tight end A.J. Pugliano and3-star offensive tackle Trent Ferguson have also signed with the Ducks.

Two more big signings are in

Another big addition from the country's middle part is official as the Ducks announced that 4-star defensive lineman Xadavien Sims out of Durant, Oklahoma, has signed and processed his paperwork with the Ducks. Sims is an All-American and will play in multiple high school all-star games. plus was the state of Oklahoma's top prospect in the 2024 class. Also throws the shotput and discus, winning the Oklahoma Class 5A state title in discus as a junior in 2023 with a throw of 161-10.

Next in line to sign was 3-star QB Luke Moga out of Sunnyslope high school in the Phoenix area. The 6-foot-2 freshman threw for 1,883 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 657 yards and three scores as a senior in 2023 this past fall. Logged 2,258 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns while rushing for 539 yards and five touchdowns as a junior in 2022. He becomes Oregon's fourth scholarship QB on the roster for the 2024 season, joining Oklahoma transfer and senior Dillon Gabriel, UCLA transfer and sophom*ore Dante Moore, and redshirt freshman Austin Novosad.

The first 5-star is in

Oregon Ducks Football Recruiting: Signing Day Live Updates (4)

Oregon has commitments from two 5-star prospects in the 2024 class, and at 6:16 AM local time in Eugene, the Ducks announced the signing of 5-star edge defender Elijah Rushing out of the state of Arizona. It's a big get for the Ducks as they look to continue to stack elite talent in the trenches and off the edge. Rushing is the state of Arizona's top prospect and one of Oregon's top overall targets for the class.Selected for the 2024 Adidas All-American Bow, Rushing helped Salpointe Catholic to the semifinal round of the AIA 6A State Football Championships as a senior in 2023. Earned a spot on the Republic’s All-Arizona High School Football Team and was named to the all-conference first team and 12 News’ All-Fever team. Rushing logged 55 total tackles, 17.5 TFL, 13.5 sacks and 64 quarterback hurries as a senior.

5:40 AM Update

Two more signings arrived early into Wednesday morning. The next prospect to officially get in was 4-star safety Aaron Flowers at 5:08 AM. The 6-foot defensive back was rated as a consensus Top-125 prospect nationally and a consensus Top-20 prospect in the state of Texas. Led Forney High School to an appearance in the UIL Texas 5A D1 State semifinals as a senior in 2023 and totaled 73 total tackles, 49 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, seven interceptions and four passes defended.

At 5:19 AM local time in Eugene, the Ducks announced the signing of defensive lineman Tionne Gray out of the state of Missouri. The 6-foot-6, 295-pound prospect was a 4-star recruit in the eyes of the 247Sports Composite. He recorded 20 tackles and four sacks as a senior.

Both prospects join Oregon at position groups that will see mass departures to graduation and NFL decisions, making their additions critical for Oregon's short-term and long-term futures.

5:20 AM Update

Oregon also continues to target Ohio State commit and 4-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan out of Christian Brothers College in Saint Louis. The 6-foot receiver is a projected future Power-5 starter, ranked as the No. 16 receiver in the country and the No. 72 overall prospect. Early Wednesday morning, 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong reports the Ducks have made up ground yet again, and the decision to sign with Oregon or Ohio State could be back to 50-50.

Why would this be a big deal for Oregon? They lost star wide receiver Troy Franklin to the NFL Draft after this season as he's declared early, and McClellan would bring an added jolt of talent and production to a receiver room that has an opening for newcomers to carve out a role. He'd fit in nicely with a trio of returning receivers in Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, and Gary Bryant Jr, while also fitting nicely long-term with freshmen Kyler Kasper and Jurrion Dickey of Oregon.

4:34 AM Update

The first two national signings have landed as the Ducks announced two prospects who played their prep football back east.

At 4:18 AM local time in Eugene, the Ducks announced the signing of 4-star cornerback Ify Obidegwu, a prospect who played at St. Frances Academy and is a future Under Armour All-American. He led a defensive unit that allowed just 12.7 points per game.

At 4:34 AM local time in Eugene, the next NLI came through the wire and was processed, making 3-star running back Da'Juan Riggs the second Duck to sign officially. Riggs racked up 1,061 all-purpose yards as a senior in 2023. He rushed for 662 yards and six touchdowns while catching 26 passes for 339 yards and two more scores.

Oregon Ducks Football Recruiting: Signing Day Live Updates (5)

There is just one prospect the Oregon Ducks are recruiting right now that they have a serious chance at landing and is currently uncommitted, and that is 4-star defensive lineman Jericho Johnson out of Armijo high school in California. The No. 108 overall prospect won't make his decision until Thursday and he is down to just four schools, Oregon, USC, Utah, and Washington.

Oregon got the last chance at hosting him for an official visit, which came this past weekend when he was in town for an official. Johnson also made multiple stops to Eugene for unofficial visits during the spring, summer, and fall.

"What stood out the most was going to coach (Dan) Lanning's house," said Johnson. "I spent a lot of time with coach Tosh (Lupoi), coach (Tony) Tuioti and coach Lanning.

Johnson said the conversations with the Oregon coaches were deep and in-depth.

"The conversations went well," said Johnson. "They just talked about the potential they see in me and how much of a priority I am to them how important I am to them."

While there is just one prospect left to be seriously considering Oregon, who is uncommitted at this time, there are a handful of prospects for whom Oregon is either trying to flip their commitment to the Ducks or is trying to keep committed to Oregon.

4-star wide receiver Dillon Gresham and 4-star linebacker Dylan Williams made official visits to multiple schools over the last few weeks and are now hearing pitches from programs like Arizona, Texas, and USC. The Ducks have gone back into the homes of each prospect and made their case for why they should stick with the Ducks, but Oregon will have to work hard to the very end to keep each prospect.

Meanwhile, Oregon has tried to flip multiple prospects committed to other programs, and that is where the fireworks could get crazy for the Ducks. 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, out of Florida's IMG Academy, committed to Colorado nearly two weeks ago after he previously eliminated the Buffs from consideration. The Ducks, along with Tennessee, have continued recruiting him as they were viewed as the co-favorites before his commitment. The Ducks have had continued conversations with Seaton's camp and are trying for a late flip.

Seaton is ranked as the No. 13 overall prospect, the No. 1 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 prospect in Florida for the 2024 class.
